New Volvo Wind Tunnel Video
Volvo is the first car manufacturer to own a wind tunnel that fully simulates the airflow around a moving car. The 20 Million Euro wind tunnel can replicate the flow of air around and underneath the car when driving on a real road at speeds of up to 250km/h and will help Volvo Cars lower fuel consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. With this new tool, Volvo has already reduced air resistance in the new Volvo C30 DRIVe by more than 10 percent. Available video includes edited packages with and without narration about Volvos wind tunnel.
inside a WT there ...
inside a WT there is no atmospheric pressure - as when a car is driven outside the faster it goes the more pressure depending on barometric pressure and the weather conditions depending on the time of year.....also cross winds interfere and bumpy road? surfaces- your 20 mil euro tunnel cannot do all of that
the original VW ...
the original VW Beetle had a Cd of 0.21 back in 1934. The wind tunnel testing car companies do? today is to get aero just good enough, and highlight styling. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Or, for the performance aspect, three to four miles an hour of top speed, possibly. And, all on the same amount of gas,? because it's more aerodynamics.

it's nice his last comment, cars tend to be environment friendly and spend less with fuel, i think? in the 10 or 20 years to follow we will see some really smaller cars

you? are wrong my friend. By sharpering corner they reduce the pressure drag due to flow separation..it's working like the trailing edge of an airfoil..
I have very big ...
I have very big doubt that by sharpening corner they reduced drag...it's impossible! maybe they reduced friction drag,? but they increased pressure drag, so they haven't done anything...
